Sundance

It goes without saying that this blog has been spotty at best. But I love seeing our family grow and change, so I'm trying to keep at it.

We have been up to Sundance Ski Resort several times this summer and each time I fall more and more in love with it. We've eaten delicious food in the Tree Room, taken the lift up and hiked with the kids, picniced, thrown lots of rocks, chased many lizards and just really enjoyed this beautiful spot.

We decided to stop by and snap some pictures of the kids on the way home from a cabin trip. I was hoping for a little more fall color, but we just missed it. (These were taken about three weeks ago.)

Anna:

Oh, this girl. What a delight it is to be her mother. She is silly and fun, but also thoughtful and concerned. Anna still is (and hopefully always will be) a major bookworm. Continues to be obsessed with My Little Pony. Loosing teeth left and right and looks endearingly like a jack-o-lantern. She is decidedly growing up too fast.

Isaac:

What a kid! Isaac is constantly surprising us. He ponders on things and then thoughtfully brings up ideas and observances. He is tough and likes to wrestle and fight, but has deeply sensitive soul. His feelings are tender. Isaac never complains. Because of this, I have a hard time discerning the seriousness of colds and injuries. He loves preschool and wishes he could go everyday. (So do I. He gets BORED.)

Ben:

Ben just radiates joy. He is the ring leader of our little pack. Yep, this little peanut of a boy likes to be in charge. He makes friends wherever we go and kids just love him.  On the flip side, Ben can get a little (a lot) whiny when he doesn't get what he wants. But oh boy, if this guy is happy we all shine a little brighter.

Sam:

Sammy David. Our caboose (by one minute thankyouverymuch) is such a sweet boy. When Sam was born we dubbed him a turtle because his tiny top lip dipped over his bottom making him look like a little ol' turtle. This has been prophetic as Sam is the SLOWEST boy known to man. And don't you dare try to hurry him because despite his sweet demeanor, Sam has quite the temper. He loves to be a part of the group, but is also perfectly happy playing on his own.

And here is the whole crew, blurry and distracted.

Blurry again, but it just so perfectly captures their personalities.

This one too.

Families are the best. The more entrenched I become in this crazy ride of motherhood, the more grateful I am. I love these people. Let's be honest, they make me crazy. But they also make me a better person. That's a funny thing about parenthood, you think you are there to raise these little ones and they end up raising you. At least that is what's going on in our house.
